They say birds of a feather flock together.

At least, that's the case for local actors Edwin Goh and Rachel Wan, who recently went public about their relationship.

Since announcing their relationship, the couple has been sharing the things they do together on social media.

One of the things they do often, it seems, is crocheting.

So it only makes sense that they start their own business selling handcrafted items, specifically, crocheted bags and hats.

Crochet couple

Called Unravel &, the online business was borne from Wan's childhood love for crocheting.

According to their website, she "discovered her passion for crocheting at the young age of nine".

Wan later introduced crocheting to Goh, who took to the craft like a cat to yarn.

Crocheting quickly became the couple's favourite way to spend time together.

Speaking to Mothership, the couple said:

"Crochet, to us, is an outlet for creativity because of it’s free-from nature. Crocheting dims the noise in our heads, it can be really meditative."

Goh enjoyed crocheting so much, he even made his own fit for Star Awards 2023.

It wasn't long before the two decided to turn their shared hobby into a business venture.

One-of-a-kind pieces

Unravel & is an ode to the couple's passion for the "timeless craft" of crocheting.

For now, the website sells crocheted bags and hats and PDF copies of crochet patterns.

They will also have crochet lessons "coming soon".

Currently, their bags run from S$75 to S$150 while hats range from S$60 to S$89.

As of the time of writing, however, most of the items are sold out.

Goh told Mothership that his personal favourite is "The Soulful One" beanie, a piece he holds "close to his heart" because it's their "firstborn".

Wan on the other hand "fell in love immediately" with the colours of the "Hopeless Romantic" bag.

"We’ve done some research on materials, and cotton is generally more forgiving in Singapore’s weather. There're other materials like linen and bamboo we would like to experiment with. But even so, there’s a lot of us who are indoors most of the time so we foresee that won’t be much of a problem."

Since the announcement of its launch, the brand has received support from their showbiz friends such as He Ying Ying, Chantalle Ng, and Benjamin Tan.
