Today happens to be a cold, rainy Monday.

But that didn't deter a bunch of Singaporeans from their favourite pastime: queuing for free things.

Ben & Jerry's is having its Free Cone Day on Apr. 3, and it's no surprise that many people have turned up for a complimentary scoop of ice cream.

Customers can choose from the following ice cream flavours:

The promotion lasts for one day, from 12pm to 8pm.

Long queues

When Mothership visited at around 11:30am, a queue of about 50 people had already formed.

By around 12:30pm, the queue extended 21 stores down from where Ben & Jerry's is.

We have to note, however, that the queues moved very fast.

There were also queue stands from VivoCity's East Court (where Ben & Jerry's is), all the way to the other end of the mall at West Court.

There were also several staff on site that helped to manage the queues.

It took us just about 20 minutes to get our ice cream, thanks to us arriving early.

Mothership understands that there is also an express lane for the elderly.
