At first glance, this photo appears to be a pretty terrifying shot of a "fiery meteor" hurtling towards our tiny island.
But don't freak out.
It's actually just a photo of the moon — impeccably positioned near the tip of a wispy cirrus cloud, creating the illusion of a comet and its tail.
Had us for a second there.
A rare sight
The rare sight was captured by Singaporean shutterbug John Wesly on the night of Apr. 7.
Wesly told Mothership that he took the photos on his iPhone 13 Pro from Mayflower Estate.
He clarified that he is "not a pro photographer" and was just "at the right place at the right time".
He also posted the photos on the Cloudspotting & Skyspotting Singapore Facebook group, causing members to do a double take.
Pretty cool.
