A man in Singapore was seen lying flat on his back in the middle of a pedestrian walkway at around 5am.

Photos of the alarming sight on April 20 were shared to the Singapore Incidents Facebook group.

The man, who came across the scene, wrote that he was heading out for his morning exercise at that time and thought the person on the ground had "a heart attack and died".

"Sleeping in his own vomit"

Upon closer inspection, the man out for his exercise realised that the motionless person had simply passed out, presumably after consuming too much alcohol.

"He was just passed out from alcohol and sleeping in his own vomit," the man wrote.

In one of the photos he posted, there was visible vomit next to the passed-out man, whose glasses were still on his face, but out of place.

There were traces of grass on the unconscious man's shirt.

It also appeared that he scrapped his left knee, as traces of blood were visible around his kneecap and pants.

"Set him on his way home"

Despite the passer-by's disgust, he still woke the unconscious man up and sent "him on his way home".

The man also added that two people had avoided the passed-out man just before he arrived.

Reactions

Many commenters who viewed the post questioned the passer-by's sincerity in helping the passed-out man as he took too many photos, as if to shame him.

There were also others who were concerned about the drunk man's physical and emotional well-being.
