A woman in Singapore alleged that her pizza from Domino's Pizza arrived a day late after she placed an order on the night of Apr. 1, only for it to be delivered on the afternoon of Apr. 2.

In response to Mothership's queries, Domino's Pizza said that the customer had agreed for the pizza to be delivered the following afternoon.

Domino's also said it acknowledged the "frustration" that the customer experienced and added, "We take full responsibility for the delay and inconvenience caused. We recognize that we can do better to ensure our customers are kept informed of their order status."

Order was supposedly delayed repeatedly

In a Facebook comment put up on Apr. 3, Nenita Lopez Torre claimed that she had placed an order with Domino's at 8:19pm on Apr. 1.

She then received a notification from Domino's which said that she would receive her order an hour later.

However, the pizza did not arrive and she received a call instead from the driver at 10.35pm who asked if she wanted to cancel her order. Torre alleged she responded by saying she would wait.

"No more call after that," she wrote.

The next day, her husband called Domino's again at 11:34am to find out what had happened, she further claimed.

"Customer Service said that it will be delivered within 30-45 mins," Torre added. However, the pizza purportedly still did not arrive by 12:41pm.

Torre alleged that she then made another call in which she was unsuccessful in her attempt to reach the customer service manager.

Her order then only arrived at 1:05pm.

Another customer resorted to ordering in person to receive his pizza

Torre's order did not appear to be the only order that was delayed however.

Other comments on the Facebook post which Torre had commented upon also alleged similar problems with their orders, most of which seemed to have occurred on Apr. 1.

Another customer claimed that he eventually headed to the outlet preparing his order to check on its status, after waiting for almost three hours, and found out that his order had not even been prepared.

This customer added that after he told a staff member about his situation, his order was prepared in 10 minutes.

He subsequently revealed in a follow-up comment that he had received a full refund and apology from Domino's, but added that he was highly doubtful if he would order from them again in future because of his experience.

Domino's Pizza: Customer whose order was delayed by a day agreed to have pizza delivered on Apr. 2 afternoon

In response to Mothership's queries, the service recovery team for Domino's replied:

"We'd like to clarify that after the customer had contacted us on their missing order from the night before, the customer was agreeable for us to deliver the pizza to them in the afternoon. This explains why they had received their pizza the day after they had ordered their pizza.

We understand and acknowledge the frustration that the customer experienced and we take full responsibility for the delay and inconvenience caused. We recognize that we can do better to ensure our customers are kept informed of their order status.

We have reached out to the customer and have assisted them in their affected order. The customer is also agreeable with the arrangements we have made."

Mothership has also asked Domino's for additional information regarding the delayed orders on Apr. 1.
