French fashion brand Dior has once again been accused of racism.
In a now-deleted post, Dior posted a photograph depicting an Asian model pulling her eye up.
つり目のジェスチャーがアジア人への差別的行為である事を忘れていたようだ pic.twitter.com/ou7dDdyx4Q

People subsequently pointed out that the model's pose was allegedly a racist gesture, meant to mimic the "slanted eye" pose that is often seen as derogatory towards Asians.
One TikTok user pointed out that this is not the first time Dior was embroiled in controversy.
@candiselin86 Dior has since deleted the “slanted eye” photo in that post. But you can still read netizens’ comments under the post. #dior #diorbeauty #asian #racist #racism #stopasianhate #mamianqun #hanfu #马面裙 #迪奥 ♬ Pieces (Solo Piano Version) - Danilo Stankovic
In July 2022, people accused the brand of copying the design of the traditional Chinese horse face skirt without clarifying the source of inspiration and labelling it "the Dior signature design".
In November 2021, Dior faced backlash for depicting a model in a Dior photo with a "gloomy face" and "sinister eyes", BBC reported.
BBC stated that Chinese social media users found the photos an "insulting" portrayal of what the West believed Chinese women looked like.
The photographer later apologised for her "ignorance" of the photos she shot for Dior.
