Good news film buffs, especially those in the east, a new cinema will be coming your way.
Cathay Cineplexes announced on Apr. 14, 2023 that it will open a new outlet at Century Square, a shopping mall in Tampines near the MRT station, later this year.
The new six-screen cinema is expected to be ready by the fourth quarter of 2023.
Filmgarde was previously in Century Square
Previously, Century Square housed a cinema operated by Filmgarde Cineplexes.
However, the company announced its closure in January 2022.
Mothership understands that the new Cathay Cineplex outlet will be taking over the space vacated by Filmgarde.
The Cathay Cineplex at Dhoby Ghaut also shut its doors in June 2022.
