A bus commuter in Singapore is full of praise for a bus driver who went the extra mile to make her day.

Mothership reader Beatriz Garrote Velasco wrote in to commend the bus driver for her cheerful demeanour and generosity.

"I take the bus every morning around 7:45am [at] Clementi MRT Exit A and she [drives] bus 105. She is a middle-aged lady with beautiful short white hair," wrote Velasco.

Unfortunately, she did not get the driver's name. Bus service 105 is operated by SBS Transit.

"She greets [us] everyday, saying "Hi!" and "Good morning!" the commuter explained. "She is very friendly."

Aside from that, the bus driver recently went the extra mile by giving Velasco's daughter some candy.

Velasco said that on April 17, the driver spotted the mother and daughter at their usual bus stop and alighted from the bus to pass them a bag of sweets.

The kind gesture moved Velasco and in return, the mother and daughter made a paper tortoise for the driver.

"This kind of thing changed my day significantly, it made my day happier, and it is so cute that she spent a little of her time thinking about us and buying us the sweets," Velasco added.

She also told Mothership that such kind gestures can really boost a commuter's mood and make their day a little happier.
