Every now and then, we come across a hawker selling not-so-hawker-ish fare.
This is one of them.
BlackGoat is a hawker stall located at Jalan Batu Market & Food Centre in Mountbatten.
Run by Fikri Rohaimi, a 23-year-old who used to work as a chef at restaurants Burnt Ends and Zen, the stall offers a variety of grilled meats and burgers, depending on the day of the week.
For instance, from its latest menu on Instagram, here's what you can find at BlackGoat:
- Flank Steak, Korean BBQ-style, served with dried scallop, nori, and fried garlic - S$15
- Angus Grass-fed Ribeye (180g) - S$19
- Australian Grass-fed Sirloin, served with black garlic- S$15.50
- Black Pepper Beef Burger, served with caramelised onions - S$15
- White Pepper Fried Chicken Burger, with Chipotle seasoning - S$14
- Cheeseburger, with cheeseburger sauce - S$9
- Grilled Chicken, with black pepper sauce - S$7.50
- Fried Chicken, with Chipotle seasoning - S$8.50
- Warm Brownies, with hazelnuts and caramel, served with vanilla ice cream - S$9.50
Another regular dish on BlackGoat's menu is the Steak Sandwich (S$25)

The stall is only about two months old, but it has already received rave reviews. On Google, it has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Do note that BlackGoat will be closed for the Hari Raya weekend, and subsequently, for Fikri's reservist stint.
