The new five-storey Punggol Regional Library in One Punggol fully opened its door on Apr. 5, 2023.

Previously, only levels one and two were opened during the library's soft launch on Jan. 30, 2023.

Since the soft launch, more than 90,000 people have visited the library.

The five floors will be stocked with extensive and accessible features that cater to everyone, from children to teenagers, seniors, freelancers, and aspiring business owners.

A space for everyone

Teens can head to level three, where there is a Study Zone and a Teenspace where workshops and talks will be held based on trending topics for teens.

Level four plays host to ExperienceIT, an immersive and interactive showcase of emerging tech and innovations, where adults, including seniors, can pick up new tech skills and knowledge.

Adults can also learn about and try fabrication technologies at MakeIT on level four.

Launch, a business resource centre, will be available on level four which will provide entrepreneurs, business owners and freelancers workshops, networking sessions and pitch night.

There will also be a Co-working Zone with working pods, meeting pods and reservable seats to create a conducive working space.

Punggol residents can also learn about the area's history, which dates back 200 years. A multimedia interactive showcase, The Lens of Literature, will feature curated poems, novels and short story excerpts about Punggol by Singapore writers.

Children will have access to spaces on levels one and two, such as World and Us Zone. The area features books donated by international libraries, embassies and high commissions on themes such as geography, culture and migration for children aged four to 12.

Persons with disabilities can also find accessible features in the library, such as Accessible Collection with Braille texts and phonic readers.

There will also be assistive technology devices throughout the library to help those with disabilities perform functions that may be challenging.

There are also Calm Pods that provide persons with disabilities with safe and quiet spaces when they need them.
