A Singapore-born man was featured on Living Big in A Tiny House, a YouTube show that features people who live in "unique and small homes".

Fabian Low, who resides in Auckland, New Zealand, showcased his tiny home on Living Big in A Tiny House's YouTube video.

Made out of shipping containers, Low's tiny home is 33 by 10 feet, which is about 30.7 square metres in size.

His own personal park

Low's tiny container home stands atop a rented plot of land that spills out into a valley which extends into the hills.

The tiny house is designed to flow from the indoor living space to the outdoor deck to a large space of greenery where he rears livestock such as chickens and goats as well as alpacas.

Low, with his partner, tend to the numerous crops that he plants in his garden, providing them with food.

Low shared with show host Bryce Langston that he had a background in landscape architecture, so he was able to design his space and keep it well-maintained.

He described the space as his own personal park.

Low said that he is currently a mental health facilitator and is studying to be a counsellor.

On his website, he has also held roles as a community builder, nutritionist, teacher, designer, gardener, musician and chef.

A place called home

Low stated he was inspired by tiny house living due to the sustainable aspect, and the small space helps him minimise his lifestyle.

Low told Langston that he had been living in his tiny home for little over a year.

He did not build it entirely; instead, the shell was made before having the interior designed.

In total, he spent about US$137,000 (S$182,064) for the whole tiny home.

Low called it his "little retreat" he could come back to every day as he designed the space to reflect who he was.

In the description of the YouTube video, it elaborates how the space was where Low could "express himself and which would make him feel connected to the land and enable him to put down roots".
