Two workers ended up stranded on a gondola at the 40th floor of Capital Tower in Tanjong Pagar on Monday (Mar. 20).
The workers were rescued by officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), including officers from the elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) and the Marina Bay Fire Station.
An SCDF Facebook post detailed how the rescue operation was carried out, after SCDF was activated at about 1:40pm.
SCDF officers set up a height rescue system on the roof of the 52-storey, 254m-tall building and lowered ropes to a platform on the 41st floor.
A DART specialist then descended onto the gondola and the workers were brought up to the 41st floor to safety.
One of the workers had difficulty moving, and had to be secured onto a rescue stretcher before being brought up to the 41st floor.
Both workers were assessed by an SCDF paramedic and conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital, said SCDF.
