A rooster was recently witnessed coolly showing off its "jaywalking skills" at a busy junction outside E!Hub at Downtown East.

In a video shared by TikTok user @lutfillatiff on Feb. 27, the feathery creature was seen strutting coolly across the road, barely breaking its stride even as cars make a U-turn into its path.

The antics of the rooster was reminiscent of popular arcade video game "Crossy Road", where the goal is to navigate an animal, such as a chicken, across a dangerous road.

Here is the video in full:

@lutfillatiffWhy did the chicken cross the road? That question remains one of the few unexplained mysteries we will never have the true answers to, but i’m glad the chicken did cross the road 🤝 and is alive and well before it becomes KFC 🤤♬ original sound - Lutfil Latiff

As seen in the clip, there was a palpable tension among the onlookers gathered at the nearby traffic island, reaching its peak when a silver car almost ran the rooster over.

Thankfully, the driver noticed it and stopped in time, prompting the startled cock to make a final sprint across.

A cheer went up among the crowd, with some clapping as the chicken reached the other side safely.

"Props to the chicken, man." the relieved TikToker adds in congratulation.

There will always be critics

Despite the adulation that it received in the video, not all commenters were impressed by the rooster's exploits.

One commenter on the video suggested that it was nothing out of the ordinary.

Others used the opportunity to express their grievances against chickens in general.

Chill bro.

At least this video seems to have solved a mystery for one particular commenter.

That said, this brazen rooster made me question: should we still use the word "chicken" to refer to a coward?

Maybe we should eggs-plore that further.
