A group of friends in Malaysia demonstrated how far they would go not to be the last one out.

In a 15-second clip posted to TikTok on Mar. 23 by user @maggiebakarr, four men - including the one filming - can be seen sitting at an unsheltered table near some food stalls.

The caption of the video was "Whoever gets up first, pays for the meal”.

That explained why they were still sitting at their table in the relentless rain, refusing to stand up even though they were visibly soaked.

The men appeared to have just finished their meal, as one can see rainwater quickly filling up their empty bowls and plates.

As the camera panned across, with one man attempted to wipe off water from his face, another just grinned, while the last man held his head low.

Netizens found them hilarious

As of time of writing, the TikTok video had garnered over 6 million views and 450,000 likes.

Many commenters were amused at the group of friends, leaving comments like "it's just a passing cloud bro", while another joked that they were sitting in the rain for healing purposes.

One netizen also commented on the men's strong and hard will.

One commenter said that one should just pay the bill, which was at most RM30 (S$9.03), if not their trip to the clinic would probably cost RM65 (S$19.50) more.

Another even wrote that someone will quickly stand up if one played a lecture by controversial Malaysian preacher Azhar Idrus.

So who ended up paying?

In a follow-up to a comment asking who paid for their dinner, the TikTok user uploaded a second part to the dinner bet.

The conclusion - the man who was keeping his head low in the first video apparently lost the bet.

In the clip, he can be seen shaking his head while sifting through his belongings, while the rest of his friends seemed gleeful.

Still dripping wet, the group was now in a shaded area and they can be seen packing up their possessions.

Better luck next time.
