Mad for Garlic, a Korean garlic-themed Italian restaurant at Suntec City, announced it is closing its doors on Apr. 28, 2023.

The announcement of its closure was announced in an email to the restaurant's members.

According to the restaurant's website, it is one of Korea's most popular restaurant chains.

There are currently 40 branches in Korea, three restaurants in Hong Kong, one in Taiwan and one in Singapore.

Lease expires in May 2023

In the email, Mad for Garlic explained that its lease would expire in May 2023.

According to a spokesperson, Mad for Garlic has decided to withdraw from the Singapore market after 13 years with the expiration of the lease.

In addition, members will not be able to claim points in the membership system from Mar. 15, 2023, in preparation for their closing.

The restaurant also advised members to redeem Mad for Garlic vouchers to offset their bills.

Currently, 50 points can be exchanged for a S$5 Mad voucher, but diners must spend a minimum of S$50 to use the voucher.

The redemption also stated that 100 points can be exchanged for a S$10 voucher, and 150 points can be used to redeem a S$15 voucher.

However, customers must hit a minimum spend of S$100 or S$150 respectively, to use the vouchers.

"We want to thank you all for your love and support over the past 13 years. We couldn't have come this far without you! Thank you so much," the email read.
