A 27-year-old man was arrested for careless driving after he fled a car crash scene outside the Istana perimeter along Cavenagh Road on Saturday (Mar. 4) morning.

A video of the incident was uploaded to SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page.

A grey Honda Stream can be seen on the leftmost lane with its front left wheel dislodged. Its front bumper was on the grass patch next to the road.

Several police cars and motorcycles, as well as a police van, were present.

A number of officers inspected the damaged car with a tow truck stationed behind it.

Driver arrested and investigations are ongoing

In response to queries from Mothership, the police said that they were alerted to the incident at about 7:30am on Mar. 4.

Police confirmed that the driver had left scene after the incident.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the car skidded off the road while negotiating a bend.

No injuries were reported.

The 27-year-old male car driver was eventually found and arrested for careless driving.

Investigations are ongoing.
