Golden Mile Complex holds 'last mile' farewell party until 4am

Golden Mile Complex tenants are to vacate the premises before May 1, 2023.

To mark the impending end of "Little Thailand" and the dispersal of an organic community, merry-makers and well-wishers got together for one last hurrah on Saturday, March 4.

The event, "The Last Mile", started at 7.30pm and lasted till 4am.

It was also organised as a festival tribute to the iconic landmark, and was a ticketed affair that got together music outfits, labels, and publications.

Tickets were priced at S$35.

Those who turned up could patronise the existing shops that were still running their businesses, effectively boosting sales besides adding to the increased footfall.

While Golden Mile Complex has always been the go-to place for the Thai community, it has also attracted a diverse patrons including photographers, musicians, and dance music aficionados.

These include impromptu mobile karaoke singers.
