A foodpanda rider in Singapore went out of his way to ensure that his customer received her change, making a second trip down to her residence to pass her the cash.

In addition, he brought chocolates for her children, and refused a tip, asking the customer to "tip others who are in need" instead.

All this past midnight too.

Supper delivery

Siti Nurfatin Atin posted about her pleasant experience on the Complaint Singapore Facebook group on Mar. 17.

She'd ordered supper for herself and her children at 11:30pm. The unnamed delivery rider turned up at her door at 11:58pm, but did not have enough change for her order.

The rider promised to return her change after his next order, and Siti decided to trust him. They exchanged phone numbers.

While she was having her supper with her children, she heard a soft knock on her door — he'd not only returned with her change, but also with chocolates for her children.

"This is the kind of rider we need...[an] honest rider," she wrote in her post.

"As it is really hard to trust people nowadays. But this rider did a good job!"

Husband is also a food rider

Siti told Mothership that while she did not get his name, the rider was a polite Indian man who appeared to be in his mid-20s.

She added that she did not prepare any small change or cash tips as she thought he would return her the change through PayNow.

"It didn't cross my mind that he would make a return trip with the change and chocolate for my kids," explained Siti, whose husband is also a delivery rider.

She later tried to tip him instead through PayNow, but found that his phone number was not connected to his account.

And when she asked him for his PayNow, he rejected it and asked her instead "to tip others who are in need".
