A new cafe has joined the Maxwell neighbourhood last weekend (Feb. 25).
Located at the second floor of 55 Neil Road, FiftyFive Coffee Bar has launched its cafe concept, with a night-time cocktail bar to be unveiled on May 5, 2023.

The space
The 40-seater coffee bar features a coffee counter and a relatively spacious dining area with dark wooden furnishings.

A spiral wooden staircase leads to the coffee bar's mezzanine area, which houses additional dining spaces and a creative installation, but we’ll get to this later.

The space is also adorned with potted plants for a touch of zen (or so we think).

Overall, the coffee bar looks more like a cozy art gallery rather than a cafe, radiating artsy and minimalistic vibes.

The menu
The cafe menu currently features specialty coffee and tea, as well as in-house bakes.
The coffee selection includes the standard espresso-based drinks like hot black coffee (S$4.50) and Mocha (S$7).

They also have special drinks with unconventional flavours, such as:
- Hot Manuka Honey Miso Latte (S$7.50)
- Strawberry Pipagao Latte (S$7.50 for hot, S$8.50 for iced)
- Iced Dirty Spiced Lemonade (S$7.50)
- Iced Dirty Chai (S$8)

The cafe also has tea flavours like Sangria Punch Tea (S$5.50) and Chardonnay Tea (S$5.50). If you want them iced, it will cost S$1 more.
Non-caffeinated options are also available, such as their Iced Chocolate (S$7.50) and Matcha Latte (S$7).

The in-house bakes available include their Homemade Apple Tart (S$7.50) and Chocolate Babka (S$7).
The cocktail menu will only be available in the future after the coffee bar launches its full concept.
Also a creative gallery
Other than its double concept, FiftyFive Coffee Bar will also be collaborating with local artists and creatives, with the space also functioning as a gallery for rotating exhibits.
They are currently showcasing the artworks of Kevin WY Lee and emerging experiential designer Daryl KJ.

The cafe is also looking to host creative events in the future, such as live music performances and poetry readings.
