Wu Pao Chun is opening its second store in Singapore on May 2, 2022.
The Taiwanese bakery had a rather high profile entry to the Singapore market in 2019, with its sole outlet at Capitol Singapore.
Its second store, however, is also quite nearby, at the basement of Paragon.
According to the media announcement, the new outlet will feature an "enhanced retail experience" in the sale of its breads, signature buns, sandwiches, and Taiwanese souvenirs.
One reason for its hype can be attributed to its namesake founder Wu Pao Chun, who won the 2010 Les Masters de la Boulangerie world championship in Paris.
Another part of the chatter, of course, stemmed from its prices, which could go up to S$20 for a large bake.
But despite the protests, the breads were still regularly sold out.
