Authorities are once again investigating Phoon Chiu Yoke, also known as the MBS Badge Lady, for allegedly walking in public without a mask.

She was allegedly most recently seen unmasked at Jewel Changi Airport on Mar. 12.

A video sent to Mothership by a reader showed a person resembling Phoon strolling through the mall.

However, she was holding what could possibly be food in her hand, which suggested that she was eating.

Enterprise Singapore told The Straits Times on Mar. 17 that they are working with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to investigate the case.

The agency also advised members of the public to exercise social responsibility by wearing a mask when not consuming any food or drink.

Seen unmasked a week before

A mere week before this incident, a person resembling Phoon appeared in the background during the shooting of a video by local influencer Xiaxue at Orchard Road.

The woman was not wearing a mask.

Xiaxue said in an Instagram Story on Mar. 7 that she had first approached the woman to ask if she was the "Badge Lady", but the woman reportedly glared at her and walked away.

However, the maskless woman who looked like Phoon walked past her again half an hour later, according to Xiaxue.

Xiaxue felt that the woman was "being quite deliberate, walking just behind the person I was interviewing".

STB is also investigating this incident.

Background

After the incident at Marina Bay Sands where an unmasked Phoon yelled at a Safe Distancing Ambassador (SDA), causing her to gain notoriety, Phoon has been caught not wearing her mask in public numerous times.

She was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison on Sep. 6, 2021 after pleading guilty to nine charges of breaching Covid-19 safe distancing measures.
