Man, 40, sent to hospital after 15 men brawl at Hougang coffeeshop

The fight lasted around 10 minutes.

A 40-year-old man was sent to the hospital after 15 men got into a massive brawl at a coffeeshop in Hougang.

106 Food Alliance

According to Chinese daily Shin Min Daily News (SMDN), the altercation occured near the 106 Food Alliance coffeeshop at Block 106 Hougang Avenue 1 at around 10:30 pm on Mar. 26.

A 35-year-old man told SMDN he was in the area with a few friends when he heard "fight, fight, fight". He saw a chaotic scene with around what appeared to be 15 middle-aged men brawling.

He said two to three men were wielding metal poles, and two to three other men were injured and bleeding.

SMDN reported that they received a video where a man can be seen wielding a metal pole and chasing after another man while yet another man picked up a chair amidst the commotion.

Bystanders can be seen watching the brawl, and Hokkien profanities can also be heard.

The 35-year-old man told SMDN that the fight lasted 10 minutes, where he saw one of the men removing his shirt to clean another man's wounds during the aftermath.

Floor streaked with blood

Arriving at the scene at around midnight, SMDN's reporter observed upended tables and chairs on the ground stained with blood.

The surrounding floor was littered with glass shards from beer bottles and one bloodied shirt.

However, the people involved were no longer at the scene.

40-year-old man conveyed to hospital

In response to SMDN's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that one was conveyed to the hospital.

Separately, Singapore Police Force told SMDN that a 40-year-old man was sent to the hospital while conscious and added that investigations are ongoing.
