Man, 48, arrested for alleged mischief by fire at Bendemeer Road & McNair Road

He will be charged in court on Nov. 30.

The police have arrested a 48-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of mischief by fire.

Arrested on Nov. 29

The police said in a news release that they received a call for assistance for a case of fire at Block 31 Bendemeer Road on Nov. 28 at 9:47pm.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, the man was arrested on Nov. 29 at about 1:50am.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in another case of mischief by fire reported along McNair Road at around 12:10am on Nov. 29.

To be charged in court on Nov. 30

Police said that the man will be charged in court on Nov. 30 with mischief by fire under Section 435 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224.

If convicted, he can be jailed for up to seven years, and fined.
