A total of 11 hawker centres started welcoming diners in groups of five on November 23 as part of the country's easing of Covid-19 measures.
Health minister Ong Ye Kung posted about his visit to one of these hawker centres, Kampung Admiralty Hawker Centre, that has started to allow five pax dine-in.
He noted that the hawker centre operator, NTUC Foodfare, assigned staff different roles, such as checking patrons' vaccination status, issuing stickers, and crowd control.
He also noted that entry into the hawker centre was "quick and seamless" because many patrons came prepared to show their vaccination status.
"Great to also see families and friends catching up over their meals at the hawker centre. Let’s all continue to stay vigilant and play our part to keep each other safe," said Ong.
