Singaporean swimmer Yip Pin Xiu has bagged another gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics on Sep. 2, after defending her women's 50m backstroke S2 title she held at Rio 2016.
The 29-year-old clocked a time of 1:02.04 at the event, which she still holds the world record for from her performance at Rio.
This is her second gold medal at Tokyo 2020, and her fifth gold medal overall.
Fastest timing at heat
Earlier in the day, Yip came in first at her heat for the same event, with a time of 1:03.61.
With the two gold medals she won in this event and the women's 100m backstroke S2 last week, she successfully defended both her titles from Rio 2016.
