A Pepper Lunch staff member in Singapore has gone viral on TikTok after his wholesome display of conscientiousness was recorded on camera.

Those who have had Pepper Lunch before are aware that the F&B chain is known for their meat and rice served on steaming hotplates, which require one to stir and cook the food quickly before it is burnt, while also dodging the flying drops of oil from the plate.

In the video, the staff member in question is helping an elderly customer, who appears to be eating alone, with his meal. The staff member is seen stirring and cooking the food on the hotplate as the elderly man watches on.

The gesture draws a huge, heartfelt smile from the man, who later pats the staff member's shoulder in thanks.

The video clearly tugged on the heartstrings of many — it has since garnered over 4.8 million views on TikTok.

Manager is a "naturally nice" guy

The staff member is actually the branch manager at Pepper Lunch's Bedok Mall outlet.

Another Pepper Lunch staff member who works under the manager said she recognised him instantly upon coming across the video on TikTok.

She described her boss as "naturally nice" and the "best boss".

Speaking to Mothership, she said that he has helped her on more than one occasion, such as lending her a hand with her work schedule or to cope with the crowd of customers.

Although she was not present when the video was taken, she added that considering her manager's sincere nature, it "wasn't really surprising" that he helped the elderly man cook his food, especially as some seniors are unsure of how to mix the ingredients.

She said:

"He's a very humourous boss, which is why I enjoy working with him, as I can have lots of fun during my working hours because I can joke around with him."
