Singapore's Yip Pin Xiu has successfully retained her title after winning gold in the women's 100m backstroke S2 final at the Tokyo Paralympics on Aug. 25.
Yip clocked a time of 2 minutes 16.61 seconds.
This is Team Singapore's first gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games, and Yip's fourth Paralympic gold medal.
Yip won gold in the same event at the Rio Paralympics in 2016.She currently holds the world record for this event.
Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Edwin Tong and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council Tan Chuan-Jin congratulated Yip on her win on Facebook.
