Radio duo The Muttons is foiling nefarious plans in the Covid-19 economy with a single social media post.

The Class 95 FM presenters, Justin Ang and Vernon Anthonisz, warned F&B owners of a trick that the unvaccinated might try to pull in order to be allowed to dine in at the establishments.

The method consists of borrowing a screenshot from their vaccinated friends' TraceTogether app to display a falsely vaccinated status.

One way to counter this, according to the duo, is to utilise the refresh button found on the updated version of the app.

The screen should jump when it refreshes.

"If nothing happens, they’re showing you a screenshot," wrote Ang and Anthonisz.

Dining in allowed from Aug. 10

Singapore has resumed dining in on Aug. 10, in up to groups of five for fully vaccinated persons.

Exceptions to the rule are:

  • Those who have recovered from Covid-19 and have a valid Pre-Event Test (PET) exemption notice
  • Those who have a negative PET result for the duration of his/ her dine-in from an MOH-approved Covid-19 test provider within the last 24 hours
  • Children 12 and below from the same household

Those who have yet to complete their vaccinations are only allowed to dine in at open air spaces such as coffee shops and hawker centres, in up to two.

Only those who have passed the two-week mark after their second dose are considered fully vaccinated by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

MOH and Enterprise Singapore (ESG) clarify that F&B establishments are otherwise not allowed to accept any dine-in customers.

"Enforcement officers will be doing their checks, and will take strict enforcement actions against any F&B establishments and individuals who do not comply with these rules," the authorities warned.
