For the past eight years, two dogs have lived in a neglected scrapyard filled with mud, discarded metal, broken glass and rocks.

Surrounded by tractors and cranes, Mille and Macy were previously confined, and only recently allowed to roam freely in the scrapyard.

Rescued by Chained Dog Awareness in Singapore

Chained Dog Awareness in Singapore (CDAS) rescued the two dogs, and made an open call for help from members of the public on August 26.

The animal welfare group had rescued three of Millie and Macy's friends in the last few months, and could not bear to leave these two behind.

According to CDAS, Macy and Millie are very friendly and affectionate, practically "the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet".

The two dogs would excitedly greet CDAS members with their tails wagging every their names were called, and were seemingly unbothered by their living conditions.

Looking for adopters and fosterers

By taking them in, the dogs were brought to the vet and assessed.

Parts of Macy's fur had to be shaved as it was overgrown and matted, making it hard for her to walk.

The CDAS also paid for their blood tests, microchips and deworming treatment, as well as the medical bills for Macy's bacterial infections.

After a grooming session, here are the two doggos.

Millie and Macy are currently looking for a clean and loving home to spend their golden years.

In response to queries from Mothership, CDAS said the dogs are HDB-approved.

They have also moved the two dogs to a temporary holding place, which is a home environment, but are still looking for long term fosterers/adopters.

If you would like to help but are unable to foster or adopt them, CDAS is also looking for sponsors to cover the vet bills, attached in their Facebook post:
