Temperatures in the eastern parts of Singapore plunged to as low as 27°C at 2pm on Wednesday (Aug. 4) afternoon.
Other areas in Singapore were relatively cool, with temperatures dipping below 30°C.
Here are the temperatures in various parts of Singapore as at 2:12pm on Aug. 4:
The cool temperatures came after a rainy morning.
Rainy weather in first half of August
The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) previously stated that the rainfall for the first fortnight of August 2021 is expected to be above average over most parts of Singapore.
In the first two weeks of August, short-duration thundery showers are expected between late morning and afternoon.
There could also be heavy thundery showers on some days due to strong day-time heating of land areas, coupled with convergence of winds in the region.
Warm nights to be expected
Despite the rainy weather and cool temperatures, warm nights are expected this August.
It can be relatively warm and humid on a few nights when southeast winds blow warm and humid air from the sea toward land, MSS said.
Night time minimum temperatures can hit 28 degrees Celsius, particularly over eastern and southern coastal areas of Singapore.
