A dog died after an alleged hit-and-run at Pasir Ris Coast Industrial Park 6 on Aug. 15.
Hit by a speeding taxi
According to a post on The Right to Live SG Facebook group, the dog was hit by a speeding taxi.
She subsequently passed away from her injuries.The post added that the dog had been on her way to have her meal from her regular feeder when she was hit.
A microchip was later found on the dog, suggesting that she could have formerly been a pet and was abandoned.
Angela
According to The Right to Live SG, a non-profit shelter for abandoned and stray dogs, the dog was subsequently named Angela by the founder of the organisation.
Angela's body was sent for cremation, and her ashes brought back to the founder's home.
The organisation appealed for members of the public to be more vigilant on the road to prevent more of such accidents, and to assist in calling in these incidents in the future, to increase the animal's chance of survival.

Alternatively, you can call the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) at 6287 5355 Ext. 9 for further assistance for animals such as dogs and cats.
