S'pore sends 100,000 doses of Moderna vaccines to Brunei

Brunei recorded its highest Covid-19 cases after 15 months.

Singapore has contributed 100,000 doses of Moderna vaccine to Brunei on Aug. 19.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement that the contribution is part of Singapore's bilateral cooperation with Brunei in tackling Covid-19.

The vaccines were handed over by the High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore to Brunei, Heng Aik Yeow, to Brunei's Minister of Health Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar.

MFA said "this contribution is part of both governments’ intent to deepen cooperation and extend mutual support to combat this pandemic together."

Brunei recorded highest daily Covid-19 cases

After successfully clamping down on Covid-19 cases after 15 months, Brunei recorded its highest daily rise of the infection with 197 cases reported on Aug. 21.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, this brings the national tally to 1,333, The Star reported.
