Singapore Food Festival (SFF) is returning for its 28th edition.
The event will be held online over three weekends from Aug. 27 to Sep. 12, 2021.
It will consist of:
- Food tours
- Masterclasses and food bundles
- SFF food merchandise
Here are some of the creations for SFF:
Buabka
Tigerlily Patisserie has whipped up Buabka, which is essentially a Babka.
For the uninitiated, a Babka is a sweet braided bread that originated from Poland and Ukraine.
Tigerlily Patisserie's savoury rendition is a Babka loaf stuffed with a paste of buah keluak, a Peranakan dish.
The Buabka will be available for a masterclass on Sep. 11 at 2pm, with more information to be released at a later date.
Singa-Pandan Shake
One of the SFF merchandise this year includes the Singa-Pandan Shake (from S$5.90) and Singa-Pandan Lime (from S$4.30) from LiHO.
Both drinks will be available from Aug. 27 to Oct. 8, 2021.
The Singa-Pandan Shake is an icy pandan milkshake with salted caramel drizzle, topped with whipped cream.
The Singa-Pandan Lime has a "sweet and mild-vanilla-like" flavour and is paired with limeade tea leaves.
Salted Egg Flavour Instant Noodle Bowl
Yet another SFF merchandise to be excited for is the Salted Egg Flavour Instant Noodle Bowl (S$2.95) born from a Nissin and Irvin's collaboration.
The Salted Egg Instant Noodle Bowl features mee pok noodle and salted egg seasoning topped with spring onion and egg crumbs.
The Salted Egg Noodles will be available in major supermarkets, Redmart and Shopee Mall from Sep. 2021.
Boba Egg Tarts and Peach Gum Egg Tarts
Things to look forward to also include the Boba Egg Tarts and Peach Gum Egg Tarts from Tong Heng.
Tong Heng is a bakery specialising in traditional Chinese pastries.
The Boba Egg Tart features Tong Heng's classic egg tart topped with passionfruit and lychee pops, paired with white boba.
The Peach Gum Egg Tart will feature its classic egg tart topped with peach gum, drizzled with sweet rock sugar sauce cut with hawthorns.
Both tarts will be sold in a set which costs S$17.50. More information will be available at a later date.
Though photos of their latest egg tarts are not available yet, here's a look at their classic egg tarts:
