With 20 indoor badminton courts, the Singapore EXPO now has the largest badminton hall in the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat shared in a Facebook post about the new development following a friendly rally with Singaporean shuttler Loh Kean Yew.
Aside from badminton courts, there are two courts for pickleball as well, making for a total of 22 indoor courts in the hall.
Those looking for more information such as how to book the badminton courts can head to Singapore EXPO's website here.
Rejuvenating Singapore EXPO
The new courts are part of the rejuvenation of the Singapore EXPO, as a result of the decrease in physical exhibitions and events brought about by the pandemic.
As such, the Singapore EXPO sought to reinvent itself by repurposing its halls into recreational spaces.
Aside from badminton courts, Singapore's largest purpose-built go-kart circuit by KF1 will also be located at the EXPO.
This will be KF1's third circuit following its Kranji and Resorts World Sentosa circuits.
Arina International Holding managing director Richard Tan, who owns KF1, is a badminton enthusiast who is also behind the new indoor badminton hall.
Tan told The Straits Times that he invested around S$1 million in the new go-kart track, which required remodelling the carpark, laying the tarmac, setting up the lighting system and landscaping, and constructing an air-conditioned viewing gallery.
Singapore EXPO will also feature a new Timbre+ food park.

Safe management measures
Currently, up to 1,000 fully vaccinated attendees are allowed for live performances, MICE, spectator and participatory sports events, according to Singapore EXPO's advisory.
This is for events where participants are predominantly seated or standing in a fixed position.
For events where participants are predominantly non-seated and moving, such as exhibitions and networking sessions, up to 500 fully vaccinated attendees are allowed.
Events are limited to up to 50 attendees if they are unvaccinated, without the need for Pre-Event Testing.
