Health Minister Ong Ye Kung took to social media on Aug. 29 to announce that Singapore has crossed another milestone.

80 per cent of the population has received their full regimen of two Covid-19 vaccine doses.

Over 4,300 homebound individuals have also received their Covid-19 jab by the home vaccination team.

According to Ong, there are about 700 requests for home vaccinations a week, a demand that is met thanks to "over 200 volunteer doctors and nurses, and also the assistance of SAF".

They are also tripling the number of home vaccination teams from 11 to 33.

This means halving waiting time from eight weeks to four weeks.

The aim is to complete all home vaccinations by the end of September.

The 80 per cent number has been touted as the point where Singapore will be able to take the next steps towards opening up.
