While seated at MediaCorp Studios on Sunday (Aug. 29) evening, waiting for Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's National Day Rally to begin, Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh took the chance to share his admiration for the woman whom he was seated behind.

Single mother of five

Singh took to Facebook to share about Aishah, who is a single mother to five sons.

He wrote that she works for Dnata, an air services provider, at Changi Airport.

Aishah had originally been working in Passenger Services, but due to Covid-19, she began helping the People's Association staff at Whampoa Community Club with tasks like issuing TraceTogether Tokens and conducting house visits.

Singh added that after around eight months, Dnata asked Aishah if she wanted to move to Cargo Services, and she currently works as a Warehouse Agent.

"Aishah is grateful to her employer for looking after her and her colleagues’ employment prospects through Covid-19."

Aishah's personal motivation

Singh wrote that Aishah's personal motivation "left [him] with only admiration". She said, "As a mother of 5 boys and as a woman, I want my children to know that if I can do it, they can too."

Singh added that Aishah's secret is a positive attitude.
