For most people, hindsight is 20/20.

But for one Singaporean, his eyesight is 20/20.

A video posted on TikTok by @fongzi83 showed what the Singaporean spotted at the recent Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony: The delegation from Poland entering the stadium had one athlete waving an upside Singapore flag thinking no one could have spotted the sneaky improvisation that was to pass off as a Poland flag.

In this day and age of social media, and high-definition television with slow motion replays available at the click of a button, where every flaw and perfection of people on screen are captured and beamed into the comforts of one's living room, gone are the days of things disappearing into ether the moment they get broadcast.

What was caught on camera

The first shot of the Polish team coming out into the stadium had the contingent all waving flags.

The upside down Singapore flag was present but not very visible at this stage.

It was during the close-up that the upside down Singapore flag, with crescent moon and five stars, was more visible.

But it was also a blink and you will miss it moment.

Possible explanations

The funny moment could be the result of the wrong flag being handed out -- the Poland flag is white on top and red at bottom -- or a shortage of handheld flags for the whole contingent.

The Polish athlete could have either waved an improvised flag or walked out empty-handed.

No hate though, whatever gets the job done.

You can also watch the Poland team walk out at the 2 hours 12 minutes 50 seconds mark in this YouTube video.

According to the live running commentary at that time, Poland is one of the top sporting nations in the world.

The commentator said: "Poland has a successful Olympic history with 284 medals but that also makes Poland the third most successful country never to have hosted the Olympic Games. They have 212 athletes in Tokyo."
