Singaporean actor Pierre Png and his wife Andrea De Cruz are opening a restaurant-bar, Tipsy Flamingo, at Raffles City Shopping Centre on Aug. 19.

The new bar will be part of Tipsy Collective, which is behind other concepts like Tipsy Penguin, Tipsy Bird and Lady Wu, reported 8 Days.

The couple, both 47, partnered with Tipsy Collective after becoming acquainted with its owners Derek Ong and David Gan a few years back.

Png said that he and his wife had enjoyed visiting Tipsy Collective's various outlets.

Tipsy Flamingo will be beach-themed and will feature dishes such as Wagyu Beef Cubes, Lobster Rolls and Crabmeat Rolls.

On July 27, its Facebook page revealed that more details regarding the bar will be released "soon".

Speaking to 8 Days, Png said that Tipsy Flamingo's opening had been planned since before the Covid-19 pandemic struck and did not want to "procrastinate" further.

He added that "it's every guy's dream to own an extended kitchen to host all of his friends."

Previous ventures

Png and De Cruz are not complete strangers to the food and beverage industry.

Png revealed that he had worked as a bartender at Hard Rock Cafe when he was a teenager, while De Cruz worked as a waitress while studying overseas.

Png had also previously co-owned 301 Bar & Kitchen at HomeTeamNS with two others.

However, the bar shuttered its doors in 2020 after almost four years of operations.

Png told 8 Days that the bar's location was converted to a quarantine site, resulting in the bar being out of business for around six to eight months.

As their lease was ending, the trio decided not to continue with the business.
