Singaporeans will soon be able to get Pfizer-BioNTech/ Comirnaty vaccine jabs without pre-registration.

This was revealed by the Ministry of Health's (MOH) group director of the crisis strategy and operations group, Dinesh Vasu Dash, at the Singapore Healthcare Management Congress on Aug. 3, according to The Straits Times.

Dinesh said it "will be a matter of time" that Pfizer vaccines will be available via walk-ins at vaccination centres or polyclinics.

There are 26 vaccination centres offering Pfizer vaccine jabs.

Just a day before, MOH announced that all Singaporeans, permanent residents, and long-term pass holders aged 18 years old and above, who have not yet come forward for their first dose, will be able to walk into any of the 11 community vaccination centres offering the Moderna vaccine, without a prior appointment from Aug. 2 onwards.

According to MOH, 63 per cent of Singapore's population has — as of Aug. 2 — been fully vaccinated, while 77 per cent has received at least one dose.

A total of 3,505,975 individuals have completed the full vaccination regimen.

In addition, 108,815 doses of Sinovac vaccines have been administered as of Aug. 2, 2021, covering 75,856 individuals.

Singapore aims to fully vaccinate two-thirds of the population by National Day on Aug. 9.
