Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be delivering the National Day Rally speech this Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021.
Ahead of the event, PM Lee has posted a teaser video on his social media pages, featuring climactic background music, slow-motion shots of the setup, and his iconic blue cup.
"I'm here at Mediacorp studios preparing for my National Day Rally," says PM Lee, as images of the studio setup are shown.
"I'm doing it differently this this year, because of Covid-19" he says, as a slow-motion shot of his blue cup fades in and out.
The iconic blue cup has been well-known among Singaporeans since its appearance in his Apr. 2020 address to the nation, and how it appeared to give its user the ability to speak in different languages.
PM Lee will speak in Malay, Mandarin and English at the following times for the rally:
- 6:45pm to 7:15pm – Malay and Mandarin
- 8pm to 9:15pm – English
In the trailer video, PM Lee revealed that there would be a live audience in the studio, along with a separate Zoom audience of 2,000 people.
He also mentioned that there would be a TV audience, as well as those tuning in online.
