A woman appeared to have slipped and fallen into the sea at the breakwater near Marina East while having a picnic there.
The incident occurred on Aug. 15 at around 7:25pm.
A video of the incident was put up online after an onlooker posted it on his Facebook page.
Tragedy in motion
The two-minute clip was accompanied with a brief background music, as the onlooker, Piz Levy, hummed the original sound track from the "Titanic" movie.
The acapella version of the tune kicked in at the 19-second mark when a man attempted to rescue the woman who had slipped into the sea.
As with all tragedies, the man subsequently also slipped off the slope while on his way down to lend the damsel in distress a hand, and ended up joining the lady in the water.
Required more help
The lady then reached out to another two people who were seated on the breakwater, appearing to pass them her phone.
The drenched duo eventually managed to climb up the breakwater after much struggle.

Onlooker couldn't help as he was standing too far from them
Speaking to Mothership, Piz Levy said he was sitting behind the fencing barrier mesh and was too far from the duo to help them.
"If I could help them, I would but I'm behind the fence and far from them. There's no security guard anywhere. People are just watching," he shared.
Piz Levy observed that the duo took a break near the bottom of the breakwater after cycling, but they were too close to the edge.
"She came too close to the end to take pictures or videos," the onlooker told Mothership.
"The girl shouldn't stand too close. It's very dangerous. And for the guy, he's lucky that he didn't fall and hit his head. I'm sure everyone will panic when things like this happen and have no clue what they should do," he added.
Piz Levy also explained that he hummed the "Titanic" theme song because what happened in the short period was "so dramatic".
"But I'm sure they're both fine now. It's a lesson learnt for them," he said.
Piz Levy also observed that there was no signage in the area to tell people to not sit on the breakwater and urged those who do to be extra careful if they want to chill on the breakwater.
The said breakwater was supposedly cordoned off in June to prevent crowding.
