Residents of four blocks at Chin Swee Road and Jalan Kukoh will be required to undergo mandatory testing for Covid-19.
This is after several Covid-19 cases were uncovered among a few households in the area.
Uncovering community infection
The Ministry of Health (MOH) is investigating likely Covid-19 transmission at 52 and 53 Chin Swee Road, and 3 and 9 Jalan Kukoh.
Thus far, five Covid-19 cases have been detected in two households at 52 Chin Swee Road.
Separately, three cases were detected in three households at 3 Jalan Kukoh, and seven cases were detected in four households at 9 Jalan Kukoh.
Epidemiological investigations are ongoing to determine linkages and the source of transmission.
MOH will conduct mandatory testing for all residents at the aforementioned four blocks to uncover community infection cases.
This includes owners and staff of commercial units at these blocks.
Mandatory Covid-19 testing will also be conducted for all staff and cleaners working at Jalan Kukoh Food Centre as an added precaution.
Testing, however, is optional for those who have tested negative for Covid-19 infection from Aug. 11 onwards.
Residents already informed
The testing operations will be conducted at:
- The void deck between 51 and 53 Chin Swee Road from Aug. 15, between 9am and 4pm.
- Level 4 void deck of 9 Jalan Kukoh from Aug. 15 to Aug. 16, between 9am and 4pm.
Residents will need to bring along their NRIC when going for testing.
Leaflets have been distributed and SMS notifications have been sent to the residents to provide them with more information.
MOH reminded residents to keep to their appointment time. They are also advised to monitor their health closely and consult a doctor immediately if they feel unwell.
Those awaiting their test results are advised to minimise social interactions as much as possible, and should continue to monitor their health and seek immediate medical attention if they feel unwell.
