Taiwanese-American basketball player Jeremy Lin has tested positive for Covid-19 on the third day of his quarantine in Shanghai, China, despite being vaccinated.

Tested negative twice, was vaccinated

The former National Basketball Association (NBA) star shared on Facebook today (Aug. 7) that he had mild Covid-19 symptoms after his return to China for his annual summer tour.

Lin, who now plays for the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), said that he had tested negative for Covid-19 twice prior to departure.

Lin previously played for the same team in the 2019-20 season and had just returned to CBA this year.

Urged "those still unsure" to get vaccinated

Lim also urged those who are still unsure about vaccination to get vaccinated.

He said that "it could be the difference between mild symptoms and something a lot worse".

The 32-year old star described the infection as the "latest curveball", as it was a struggle to feel sick while being away from his home.

He was however immensely grateful for the care that he is currently receiving in Shanghai.
