120 new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in S'pore, 26 unlinked

47 cases are linked to the Bugis Junction cluster.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 122 cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Friday (Aug. 27).

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore to 67,050.

120 locally transmitted cases

There are 120 locally transmitted cases. 47 of the cases are linked to the Bugis Junction cluster.

Of the remaining 73 cases, 31 are linked to previous cases, and have already been placed on quarantine.

16 are linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance. 26 cases are currently unlinked.

Amongst the cases are three seniors above 70 years who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and are at risk of serious illness.

Two imported cases

There are two imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Both were detected upon arrival in Singapore.

Further updates will be shared by MOH later this evening.

In total, there are 122 cases today (Aug. 27).
