32 new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in S’pore, 16 unlinked

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 37 cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Saturday (Aug. 21).

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore to 66,443.

32 locally transmitted cases

There are 32 new cases of locally transmitted Covid-19 infection.

11 are linked to previous cases, and have already been placed on quarantine.

Five are linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance.

16 are currently unlinked.

Among the cases, there is one senior above 70 years who is unvaccinated and is at risk of serious illness.

Five imported cases

There are five imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Three were detected upon arrival in Singapore, while two developed the illness during SHN or isolation.

Further updates will be shared by MOH later this evening.
