59 new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in S'pore, 19 unlinked

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed that there are 59 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Thursday (Aug. 12).

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 66,012.

26 out of the 59 cases are linked to previous cases, and have since been placed on quarantine; 14 are linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance.

Meanwhile, 19 cases are currently unlinked.

Amongst the cases are five seniors above 70 years who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and are at risk of serious illness.

There are no imported cases today.

MOH will provide further updates tonight.
