80-year-old female S'porean dies from Covid-19 complications

An 80 year-old female Singaporean, Case 65943, has passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection on Aug. 7, 2021, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

She had developed symptoms on Jul. 21, and was admitted to Tan Tock Seng Hospital on Jul. 23 after testing positive for Covid-19 infection.

MOH said that she had not been vaccinated against Covid-19, and had a history of diabetes, hypertension and atrial fibrillation.

In total, 42 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection, with the most recent five deaths taking place in the past week since Aug. 1.

75 new cases on Aug. 7

MOH also confirmed 75 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Saturday (Aug. 7).

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore to 65,686.
