Amongst the cases are seven seniors above 70 years who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and are at risk of serious illness.

There are also four imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Three were detected upon arrival in Singapore, while one developed the illness during SHN or isolation.

100 active clusters

There are eight new clusters today, bringing the current total to 100 active clusters, ranging between three to 1,097 infections per cluster.

Overall trends

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 967 cases in the week before, to 799 cases in the past week.

MOH said that Singapore is likely to continue to see a high number of cases in the coming days, as the government steps up efforts to detect them to contain their spread in the community.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has increased from 173 cases in the week before to 254 cases in the past week.

The seven-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 77.9 and 36.3 respectively.

Condition of hospitalised cases

592 cases are currently warded in the hospital, most of whom are well and under observation.

There are currently 37 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and seven in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Among these 44 cases, six are fully vaccinated.

Of these, four require oxygen supplementation, while two require ICU care due to underlying medical conditions.

In addition, 31 seniors above the age of 60, of whom 27 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, have fallen very ill.

Over the last 28 days, 66 local cases required oxygen supplementation, were admitted to ICU or passed away.

39 are unvaccinated, 21 are partially vaccinated and six are fully vaccinated.
