Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant to be charged for allowing group of 65 to have company dinner

Under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act 2020, first-time offenders will face a fine of up to S$10,000, imprisonment of up to six months, or both.

Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant will be charged on Sept. 1, 2021, for contravening Covid-19 regulations.

A media statement by Singapore Land Authority (SLA) on Aug. 31 revealed that the restaurant had allowed a group of 65 persons on its premises.

The gathering was for a company dinner, which was organised by Asia Piling Co Pte. Ltd.

The firm will also be charged on Sept. 1 for organising a gathering involving 65 persons for a purpose that is substantially recreational or personal in character.

The company dinner took place on Feb. 6, 2021, at Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant located at 200 Turf Club Road.

SLA had previously issued an order requiring the operator to close the premises for 10 days from Feb. 10 to Feb. 19.

First-time offenders will face a fine of up to S$10,000, imprisonment of up to six months, or both.

Subsequent offenders may face a fine of up to S$20,000, imprisonment of up to 12 months or both.
