The Singapore Police Force (SPF) are investigating 84 individuals after enforcement operations on 76 massage establishments and 78 public entertainment outlets.

They were found on the premises from island-wide enforcement operations between July 26 and Aug. 1, said the SPF in a police news release on Aug. 3.

Unlicensed "KTV-concept" outlets across five locations

The police raided unlicensed "KTV-concept" outlets at five locations along North Bridge Road, Outram Road, Kallang Avenue, Ubi Road 1 and Geylang Lorong 13 during the operations.

Four men are being investigated for their suspected involvement in managing the unlicensed public entertainment outlets.

They are aged between 24 to 46.

For supplying liquor without a valid licence, and providing public entertainment without a valid licence, offenders may be fined up to S$20,000 each.

In addition, 50 individuals were found in the premises, and are under investigation for alleged breaches of Covid-19 regulations.

Massage

A total of 15 massage establishments were believed to have committed various breaches under the Massage Establishments Act and various Covid-19 regulations.

During the operations, police officers found masseuses and customers allegedly not wearing masks during the provision of massage services at two premises.

A 10-day-long closure order and a fine of S$1,000 will be issued against these two massage establishments whilst patrons will be fined S$300 for breaching safe management measures.

In addition, investigations against 34 persons, comprising of operators, masseuses and customers are also ongoing.

Those found providing massage services in an unlicensed massage establishment can be fined S$10,000, face imprisonment of up two years, or both.

Those found to have breached the prescribed rules and conditions may be subjected to a fine not exceeding S$5,000.
